Joining The Weimaraner Club of America

A prospective new member to the Weimaraner Club of America needs a sponsor. A sponsor is someone who is already a member of the WCA. If you do not know someone who is already a member, there are a couple of places you look:

A. The local Weimaraner club will have WCA members. Contacting the local club and attending a meeting is the best way to find a sponsor. The webpage has a list of local clubs.

B. If there is not a local club close enough to contact, the local all-breed club more than likely will have Weimaraner owners in the membership. Attending the local all-breed club meeting and inquiring about WCA members is also a good way to find a sponsor. All-breed clubs are listed in the phone book, the local pet store and the American Kennel Club.

C. If none of the above works, attending the next all -breed dog show and going to the Weim ring is another option. The time Weims are shown in the ring is usually posted in the newspaper the day before the show along with location of the show, etc. You will find Weim owners standing nervously around the ring to go in.
